Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reactions to the relegation of Blackburn Rovers from the Championship.

Rovers won 3-1 against Brentford away from home at Griffin Park in the league on Sunday afternoon.

Despite the victory, Blackburn have failed to retain their Championship status for the 2017-18 campaign and have been relegated to League One.

Former Blackburn duo Shearer and Sutton have taken to Twitter to give their reactions to the relegation of Rovers from the second tier of English football.

Blackburn have ended the 2016-17 Championship season third from bottom in the table with 51 points from 46 matches.

Shearer and Sutton were part of the Rovers team that won the Premier League table during the 1994-95 season.

It must be hugely disappointing and frustrating for the fans to see the team get relegated to League One, but perhaps they could bounce straight back into the Championship.
