Alan Shearer blasted Liverpool ace Sadio Mane for his performance against Manchester United yesterday, when speaking exclusively to the Sun, suggesting that the Senegalese ace offered absolutely ‘nothing’.

The Reds went back to the top of the Premier League table after yesterday’s draw, but they put in one of their most impotent performances of the season so far.

Manchester United were severely weakened by injuries, and Liverpool really should have gone for their jugular, but they seemed to be content with taking a point back to Merseyside.

Jürgen Klopp’s forward players just weren’t firing at Old Trafford, with Mane in particular failing to meet his usual high standards.

The 26-year-old has scored 12 Premier League goals this season, but he failed to influence the game at all against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men.

Shearer singled out the former Southampton ace for criticism, when speaking exclusively to the Sun, suggesting that the forward went missing:

‘We never had a sighting of Sadio Mane in the game — nothing.”

Liverpool now need to bounce back quickly when they welcome Watford to Anfield on Wednesday night, and Mane will be looking to make amends for his below par performance yesterday.
