Alan Pardew suggests Harry Kane pulled off something difficult to achieve against Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur hammered Liverpool 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Alan Pardew has told the Daily Mail that Tottenham star Harry Kane will exploit any weakness or lack of confidence in a defence – as he did with Liverpool on Sunday.

Spurs coasted past the Reds at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with Kane putting Tottenham 1-0 up early on before teeing up Son Heung-min for a superb second.

Mohamed Salah got Liverpool back into the game with a scruffy finish, but Dele Alli made it 3-1 before the break, and Kane got his second and Tottenham’s fourth to seal a comprehensive victory.

The entire Spurs side is impressing under Mauricio Pochettino yet again this season, but striker Kane is unsurprisingly grabbing all the plaudits as he continues his goalscoring exploits.

Kane, 24, has hit a remarkable 13 goals in just 12 games this season, with 11 goals in his last eight appearances for Tottenham, boosting his reputation even further.

On Sunday, Kane not only found the net twice but also played a sumptuous pass for Son’s goal, showcasing more great movement by tricking Dejan Lovren into committing for the ball, with Kane spinning in behind to run through on goal.

Kane was toying with Lovren so much that the Liverpool defender was substituted after just 30 minutes in favour of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with Jurgen Klopp deciding to haul the Croatian off.

Now, Alan Pardew has told the Daily Mail that what Kane did to Lovren ‘takes some doing’, praising the Tottenham striker for exploiting the Liverpool defender by suggesting that it’s hard to achieve getting a defender substituted.

“If there is weakness or lack of confidence in any back four, Harry Kane will rip you apart,” said Pardew. “To get a centre back at a big club substituted after 30 minutes takes some doing. It’s a tough call for a manager to do that to one of his own players and Jurgen Klopp will have known that about Dejan Lovren. You are trying to put the player out of his misery.”

“I’ve done it and it is a horrible moment for the player, for you and the squad. It’s not the end of the world, though. Jose did it to Nemanja Matic when they were at Chelsea but he still signed him again for Manchester United,” he added.
