West Bromwich Albion are currently in a whole world of trouble.

West Brom boss Alan Pardew addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s bitterly disappointing 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth yesterday, and admitted that it was hard to look the players in the eye after the effort and determination that they put in at the Vitality Stadium, as quoted by Sky Sports.

The Baggies are currently marooned at the foot of the Premier League table, 10 points adrift of 17th placed West Ham, with just seven games left to save themselves.

The Black Country outfit have won just three league games all season long, and only one since Alan Pardew took over as manager way back in November.

Their hopes of avoiding the drop are fading with every week that passes, and their next two games could very well define their season.

West Brom face back-to-back home games against Burnley and Swansea City respectively, and nothing less than six points from those outings will do, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of avoiding relegation.

Pardew spoke to reporters after yesterday’s defeat to Eddie Howe’s men, and admitted that there was not much to say to his players, considering the effort they put into the game, as quoted by Sky Sports:

“It’s tough for us as it’s been one of those seasons where nothing has gone right – the players have worked really hard and it’s difficult to look them in the eye when they’ve got no reward for it. They’ll be walking out of here injured animals as they didn’t deserve that.”

Pardew has not had any kind of positive impact at the Hawthorns, and if his side fail to win both of their next two games, relegation to the Championship could very well be all but confirmed.
