West Bromwich Albion are currently staring relegation from the Premier League in the face.
West Brom boss Alan Pardew spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s bitterly disappointing 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday, and shared the message that he is continually giving his players, as quoted by the Express & Star.
The Baggies currently find themselves in a whole world of trouble, and are marooned at the foot of the Premier League table, with 10 points separating them and 17th placed West Ham.
West Brom have won only three Premier League games all season, and just one since Alan Pardew took over way back in November.
The Black Country outfit look totally doomed, but Pardew spoke defiantly in the aftermath of Saturday’s defeat to the Cherries.
The 56-year-old addressed the media, and shared the message that he has been telling his players after every single setback this season, as quoted by the Express & Star:
“I keep saying to my players we’ve got to keep fighting and show pride in what you do. That’s what I’m going to do until such time I’m told not to.”
One positive for the Baggies is the fact that they face two homes games on the trot when they return to action following the international break against Burnley and Swansea City respectively.
If they are to have any chance whatsoever of avoiding the drop, they need to take six points from those games, and if they manage to do just that, the West Brom players might begin to believe that they can achieve the impossible.
