Alan Pardew has raved about Chelsea central defender Thiago Silva.
The former Newcastle United and West Ham United manager has said on talkSPORT (6:39pm, September 17, 2023) that Chelsea defender Thiago Silva is a world-class player.
Pardew has noted that the Brazilian defender is a leader.
The talkSPORT pundit made the comments about Silva while reflecting on Chelsea’s failure to win against Bournemouth this past weekend.

Chelsea played out a goalless draw with Bournemouth away from home in the Premier League.
Silva started at the back for Chelsea in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Pardew said: “I look at Silva, and you know he is a leader, he is a world-class player.”

Much is made about Liverpool and Netherlands international central defender Virgil van Dijk and how he is a brilliant defender.
What is often overlooked about Van Dijk is that he has not had the longevity as Silva.
The former Celtic defender has been at his true best for maybe three seasons at most during his time at Liverpool so far.
Silva is 38 now and has been superb since his time at AC Milan from 2009 until 2012.
The Brazilian was brilliant at Paris Saint-Germain, and he has had no problem whatsoever in the Premier League with Chelsea.
Silva has made 87 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The defender has scored five goals, given two assists, and kept 28 clean sheets in those games.
