West Bromwich Albion midfielder Sam Field may be the player who suffers the most with Alan Pardew reportedly on the brink.

Whether The Sun’s suggestion that Alan Pardew has two games to save his job with West Brom is entirely accurate or not, there is no question that the Baggies boss is coming under serious pressure.
With seven points separating them from safety, the board would be forgiven for considering their options with time running out for the club to get themselves out of trouble – so perhaps Pardew may fear that he has two games to bag the results that will enable him to carry on.

Given his reportedly precarious situation, Pardew may be looking round to the players within his squad that he feels that he can rely on and basing his team selections around them in the next two games to give him what he may feel is the best chance of staying in the job.
And if Pardew does decide to stay fairly safe with his team selections, perhaps it may be fair to suggest that the next few weeks could prove to be another frustrating spell for Sam Field.

Following the Baggies’ FA Cup defeat to Southampton last weekend, some West Brom fans urged Pardew to drop Gareth Barry for Field after the veteran looked incredibly disappointing against the Saints.
Field is undoubtedly one of the brightest prospects coming through at The Hawthorns and actually rarely let the side down when he got a chance in the first-team around the time of Pardew’s appointment.
However, he has been used so sparingly lately that Pardew may feel that it is a greater gamble to give the 19-year-old a chance in the games against Huddersfield and Watford. And with the manager supposedly fighting to keep his job, it may be a gamble that he is not willing to take right now.
But surely it is fair to suggest that with Barry and Claudio Yacob looking out of form and Jake Livermore struggling with injury, the greater gamble may be leaving Field out and keeping faith with one of the players that has helped land him in this situation.
