Rangers are reportedly pursuing Alan Pardew as a managerial candidate.

Rangers are searching for a new manager after parting company with Pedro Caixinha on Thursday, and Alan Pardew is now being linked with the job.
Less than 24 hours after overseeing a 1-1 home draw with Kilmarnock, Caixinha lost his job following a board meeting, and the Portuguese boss leaves having managed to last just seven months at Ibrox.
Caretaker boss Graeme Murty took charge of Saturday’s 3-1 win at Hearts, and whilst he may be hoping to pitch himself for the job, the Gers could look for another outside appointment.

Whilst Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes remains one of the favourites, the Daily Mail now claim that tentative talks have been held with Alan Pardew over a possible move to Ibrox.
Pardew, 56, has been out of work for almost a year now having been sacked by Crystal Palace last December, and he may well see the Ibrox job as the perfect chance to get back into management.
A move to Ibrox for the former Southampton and Newcastle boss would be interesting for a number of reasons, but particularly as it would give him the chance to reunite with caretaker boss Murty.

Pardew managed Murty at Reading from 1999 to 2003, and the pair even reunited at Southampton in 2009, with their strong relationship continuing over the years.
When Murty was named as Rangers caretaker earlier this year, Pardew spoke to The Scottish Sun about Murty, raving about his ability as a coach and even offering to help him if he needed it.
Reuniting again with Rangers could be appealing for Pardew, and may give Murty an opportunity to step up into an assistant manager role, gaining further experience ahead of becoming a full-time manager – and that could help Rangers in the long term too.
