West Bromwich Albion are currently involved in a relegation scrap.

Newly-appointed Baggies boss Alan Pardew sat down and addressed the media today, sharing his ambitious target for the season ahead, as quoted by the Express & Star.
The 56-year-old was officially named as the new West Brom manager today, and has his work cut-out if he is to enjoy a successful spell in the Black Country, with West Brom currently sitting in 16th position in the table, just two points clear of the drop zone.
Pardew has become renowned for having an impact on the sides he has taken control of, immediately following his appointment as manager, and the Baggies will need that kind of boost, if they are to have any chance fo climbing the table.

The former Crystal Palace, Newcastle and West Ham boss is more concerned about looking in front of him, rather than worrying about relegation, however.
He told reporters how he is targeting a top 10 finish this season, as quoted by the Express & Star:

“We need to get some wins under our belt, get on a decent run, and put ourselves in a position where we can attack the top 10.”
West Brom have a long way to go if they are to get anywhere near the top 10, and Pardew will begin his quest with a home game against his former club Crystal Palace on Saturday, where a win will be an absolute must if they are to have any chance whatsoever of achieving his ambitious goal.
