Laurent Blanc has been linked with the Newcastle United managerial role.

Newcastle will be without a manager in the coming days, with Rafael Benitez set to leave his role at the Magpies at the end of the month.
It has been reported by The Northern Echo that former Manchester United and France international defender has already expressed his desire to manage Newcastle.
Blanc is without a managerial role at the moment, having parted company with Paris Saint-Germain back in 2016.
During his time as the PSG manager, Blanc won the Ligue 1 title in 2014, 2015 and 2016, the Coupe de la Ligue thrice and the Coupe de France on two occasions.
It was also during his time as the PSG boss that the 53-year-old former defender was berated by then Newcastle manager Alan Pardew.

As quoted in The Daily Star back on July 10, 2013, Pardew, then the manager of Newcastle, criticised Blanc for his public pursuit of Yohan Cabaye.
Cabaye was a key player for the Magpies at the time, and the 33-year-old French midfielder eventually left Newcastle for PSG in January 2014.
The Daily Star quoted Pardew as saying about Blanc’s pursuit of Cabaye back on July 10, 2013: “I don’t think it’s right. He can get on the phone to me, or make a bid. That’s the right way to do it.”
