Sam Field has not featured much for West Bromwich Albion since Alan Pardew took charge.

According to the Express and Star, West Bromwich Albion have rejected three loan offers for Sam Field, and that decision means that Alan Pardew simply must start picking the youngster more regularly.

Field proved under Tony Pulis that he was ready to perform a starting role at West Brom, and he impressed when given an opportunity.

However, Pardew is yet to give Field a consistent chance and blocking a loan move seems to be of little to benefit to anyone right now.

Field is clearly capable of playing senior football, and his development would be better served by getting regular action.

Sunderland, Derby County and Fulham were all prepared to give Field a place in their first-team.

But Pardew decided to keep Field at the Hawthorns, and that means he should be thinking about bringing the 19-year-old back into West Brom’s line-up.

If Pardew has kept Field around just to keep him on the bench as a last resort, then it seems a rather selfish decision, which could harm the youngster’s progress.

And Pardew must now seriously consider giving Field a starting role again at West Brom, to see what the youngster is capable of.
