West Bromwich Albion lifted themselves out of the Premier League relegation zone after securing an impressive point.

The Baggies went into the trip to Anfield looking to get themselves back on track after they suffered their first defeat since Pardew succeeded Tony Pulis at The Hawthorns at the weekend, with Swansea claiming a vital victory.

And with Crystal Palace’s win over Watford on Tuesday sending West Brom into the bottom three, Pardew would have known that there was plenty of pressure on his side to gain a positive result on Merseyside despite the fact that they would have been significant underdogs for the contest.
But they did manage to secure a good result as the game ended in a goalless draw. And while he did not get onto the scoresheet, Rondon’s performance was one which was his manager was hugely impressed by.

“I ‘d like to give him more opportunities in terms of scoring a goal, but I couldn’t have asked for anymore, he still created some moments.”
It has been a difficult season for Rondon, with just three goals coming in 18 appearances in all competitions for the Baggies this season, so Pardew will perhaps be hoping that his display at Anfield will give the Venezuelan the boost he needs.
And it also appears that Pardew has put some of the attacking players on notice that they need to be creating more chances for the striker if they hope to end their very long wait for a victory in the near future.
