Alan Pardew impressed by Grzegorz Krychowiak’s performances in West Bromwich Albion training

Grzegorz Krychowiak has not featured for West Bromwich Albion during Alan Pardew’s time in charge.

Alan Pardew has told the Telegraph that he has been impressed by West Bromwich Albion midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak’s response in training, after being dropped in recent weeks.

Pardew seems to have some reservations over playing Krychowiak, with the Pole not playing a minute since the 56-year-old took charge at the Hawthorns.

However, Pardew insists that Krychowiak is pushing to win his place back in the team, ahead of the Baggies’ match against Liverpool this evening.

“I think everyone is knocking on the door at the moment because we aren’t winning games,” he said.

“So if you aren’t knocking on the door now we have got a problem.

“He’s been ok, he has responded well in training. That’s all I can say at this stage.”

Krychowiak has been a disappointment at West Brom, since arriving from PSG in the summer transfer window.

Much was expected of the high-profile defensive midfielder when he arrived at West Brom, but he has been unable to show his best form.

Krychowiak now faces a fight to win his place back in the Baggies’ team, with Pardew looking to stamp his authority on the squad.

Pardew is yet to taste victory as West Brom manager, with fears about relegation growing by the game.

West Brom dropped into the Premier League’s bottom three last night, and if they lose to Liverpool this evening, they could sink all the way to the bottom of the table.
