Crystal Palace slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Manchester United at the weekend.

Alan Pardew has told Crystal Palace’s official site that his side struggled to deal with Manchester United’s movement in the first half at the weekend.

United managed to beat Palace 2-1 last Saturday and Pardew felt that the Red Devils played well during the contest.

He said that the Eagles struggled to deal with their tactical set-up for the first 45 minutes, but he felt his side grew into the game as it progressed.

“We had trouble with their rotation,” he admitted. “But in the second half we sorted that out and changed our shape, that worked for us and we got the equaliser, perhaps should have taken the lead but for a fantastic save from their goalkeeper to deny Glenn [Murray].

“Unfortunately we got that cross all wrong (for their second goal) and we’ve ended up losing, it wasn’t really what we deserved, I thought.”

Palace’s loss to United was their fourth in succession and it has been a disappointing run of form for the London outfit.

The Eagles had looked to be one of the most dangerous sides in the Premier League since Pardew took over, but they have taken their foot off the gas of late.

With safety confirmed, Palace seem to have let their level slip a little, but they can still be proud of a very productive campaign.

The Eagles are currently in 12th position and they will be hoping to break into the top half of the table next season.
