The West Bromwich Albion midfielder is currently out injured.

West Brom manager Alan Pardew addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s disappointing home defeat to Burnley at the Hawthorns yesterday, and criticised Gareth Barry’s decision to go out clubbing on the eve of the game against the Clarets, despite being injured, as quoted by the Express & Star.
The 37-year-old has been out of action since the end of February, after sustaining a knee injury, with his side falling further and further away from Premier League safety during his absence.

The Baggies are firmly rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, 10 points adrift of safety, and have just six games remaining with which to save themselves.
Pardew spoke to reporters after yesterday’s defeat to Burnley, and was questioned about Barry being pictured out at a nightclub on the eve of his side’s clash with the Clarets, as quoted by the Express & Star:

“I know he was in for treatment this morning and he was on time. His engagements off the football pitch in his personal life is his personal life. He was under no jurisdiction with us. Was it wise to do that on the eve of a game? Probably not.”
Whether Barry will play again for West Brom this season remains to be seen, but considering their current plight, they could certainly use the 37-year-old’s experience as they look to complete a miraculous turnaround, by beating the drop.
