Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is very keen to bring in Miguel Almiron in January.

According to the Daily Mirror, Alan Pardew could take the Atlanta United manager’s job, and that could directly impact on Newcastle United’s transfer plans.

Rafael Benitez has made Miguel Almiron his number one January target, as reported by the Chronicle, with Newcastle pushing to do a deal.

And Newcastle could now be relying on their former manager, Pardew, to sell them the playmaker.

The Magpies are still working on agreeing a deal with the American side, with Benitez said to be very keen on Almiron.

The Paraguayan has been one of the stars of MLS over a number of seasons, which his form catching the eye of Newcastle.

And it could be that Newcastle are now relying on Pardew to sanction his sale.

Atlanta United are set to be without a manager very soon, as their current boss Gerardo Martino has decided not to pen a new contract, with Pardew said to be one of the leading candidates to take over.
