Tottenham Hotspur have started the new campaign in impressive form.
Alan McInally has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 12th September, that he believes Tottenham Hotspur will be challenging for the Premier League title once again this season.
Spurs managed to be Leicester City’s main rivals for the title last term, before an end of season collapse saw them slide into third place.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side do not appear to be suffering with any hangover from their poor end to last campaign, though, as they have started this term in fine form.
And McInally said: “I expect Spurs to have a big season. I thought they were going to win the league last year.
“Eriksen is absolutely different class in the middle of the park, and he’s just signed a new contract and they have players all over that can hurt you.
“They will be there or thereabouts this year, for sure.”
Tottenham are currently stationed in the top four, in the embryonic Premier League table standings.
Spurs won their last fixture 4-0 against Stoke City, and they looked very impressive throughout at the Bet365 Stadium.
Pochettino appears to have added depth to his Spurs squad, but it remains to be seen if they will be able to balance their Champions League commitments alongside their domestic demands.
Tottenham have their first Champions League match of the season on Wednesday evening, when they take on Monaco at Wembley.
