Alan McInally has told Premier League Daily on Sky Sports (broadcast on 18th October 2017 from 10:00 am) that he thought that Moussa Sissoko was fantastic in Tottenham’s clash with Real Madrid on Tuesday night, and insisted that he has now proved that he is good enough to play for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

Spurs won a number of plaudits after they continued their unbeaten start to their Champions League campaign as they drew 1-1 in the Bernabeu, with a number of players impressing on a brilliant night for the Premier League side.

One of the players who seemed to receive the most praise was Sissoko, after he shone against Los Blancos, proving extremely influential down Tottenham’s right flank.

And McInally insisted that the £30 million signing has proved all of his doubters and critics wrong with his performance against Madrid, and went on to add that he is one of the players who could play a crucial role when Zinedine Zidane’s men come to Wembley next month.

“He did fantastic,” he told Premier League Daily on Sky Sports (broadcast on 18th October 2017 from 10:00 am).

“He was at Newcastle, came in, a lot of people were thinking, ‘I don’t know if he’s good enough to play at Spurs’. All day long he is.”

He added: “In two weeks time, they’ll be thinking, ‘we can do these, these are the Champions of Europe, we can turn them over’, and with players like Sissoko and obviously with Harry [Kane] if he stays fit, then why not?”

It would probably have been almost unthinkable for Tottenham fans to imagine before the season began that they would be reflecting upon on such a significant upturn in form from Sissoko, and it probably would have been even more unthinkable to imagine that the performance that confirmed his turnaround came away at Real Madrid.
