Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are currently in fifth place in the Scottish Premiership table.

Alan McInally has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 27th October, that Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have received some unfair criticism this season.

Rangers have struggled to live up to expectations so far this term, and they were booed off after drawing with St. Johnstone yesterday evening.

The Light Blues fell behind against St. Johnstone last night, and even though Joe Garner headed in an equaliser before the break, they were unable to pick up the three points.

Rangers are now currently in fifth place in the Scottish Premiership standings, but McInally does not believe that they should be put under so much scrutiny.

“It’s unfair,” he said, when asked about the criticism Rangers are receiving.

“They are genuinely three or four years behind [Celtic]. I think the manager is excellent, he’s doing a fantastic job.

“It’s a process in terms of getting them back up. I think the Rangers fans realise that. It’ll be a gradual process, and I think Warburton has already brought some better players in to Rangers squad.”

Rangers became used to winning last season, as they strolled to success in the Scottish Championship.

However, Rangers appear to have struggled to cope with the step up in standard, and they have already fallen nine points behind their rivals and league leaders Celtic.

Rangers are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Kilmarnock at Ibrox.
