Alan McInally suggested on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports Football last Saturday afternoon (12:19pm, December 15, 2018) that reported Celtic and West Ham United target Tom Davies will not leave Everton in the January transfer window.

According to The Daily Mail, West Ham and Celtic are interested in signing Davies from Everton in January.

It has been reported that both the Hoops and the Hammers have made enquiries regarding the availability of the 20-year-old central midfielder.

Former Celtic and Scotland international striker McInally, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, does not think that Davies will leave Everton in January.

McInally said about Davies on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports Football last Saturday afternoon (12:19pm, December 15, 2018): “He will just have to wait for his opportunity again. It will come. He will get another opportunity.

“He is still a young man. You still want to play, but there will be plenty of opportunities. He is one that Everton quite like, and I don’t think he will be going anywhere.”

Everton stay

Davies has made five starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Everton so far this season, according to WhoScored.

The England Under-21 international midfielder will be disappointed that he is not playing regularly at the moment, but it is better for him to stay at Goodison Park and work with Everton manager Marco Silva for the time being than leave the Toffees on loan.
