West Ham United are currently in 19th place in the Premier League table.

Alan Curbishley has told Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on September 19th, that he feels West Ham United’s failure to name a consistent back four is the reason behind their problems.
West Ham have started the new campaign in shocking form, and their defensive play has been woeful.
The Hammers have conceded four goals in their last two matches – against Watford and West Bromwich Albion – and they are currently stuck down in 18th place in the Premier League table.

The pressure is already starting to build on Slaven Bilic, but Curbishley believes once the Croatian boss can put out a consistent line-up, the London side’s form will improve.
“The thing is, if you see the back four this season – I don’t think it’s been the same for two games. It’s changing constantly,” Curbishley pointed out.
“When the back four is changing as much as that, it’s difficult to get yourself in a rhythm. That’s been the problem. He can’t get the same team out there every week.”
West Ham raised expectations through their performances last term, when they finished in seventh place.

There was hope that the Hammers would be able to build on their showings from last season, and compete for Europe again this time around.
However, West Ham are now playing catch up in the Premier League table, after collecting just three points from their first five matches.
The Hammers are next in action against Accrington Stanley in the League Cup, before they face Southampton at the London Stadium.
