West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic’s contract talks have reportedly been put on hold.
Alan Curbishley has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 21st December, that he believes West Ham United’s owners David Gold and David Sullivan have treated Slaven Bilic very fairly.
Bilic has still not been offered a new contract at West Ham, with his current deal due to expire at the end of next season.
It was widely expected that the Croatian would be handed a new deal at the end of last term, when he guided West Ham to a seventh placed finish.

However, Sullivan said that West Ham still wanted further proof that Bilic was not going to be a ‘one season wonder’, and no new contract was offered.
This season, the Hammers have struggled badly and they currently sit in 13th place in the Premier League table.
There are now some doubts over Bilic’s future at the London Stadium, with The Sun suggesting that contract talks had been put on hold.
But Curbishley does not feel that Bilic has been unfairly treated by the West Ham board, as they have always been consistent with him.

The former West Ham boss said: “This time last year when West Ham were up in the top six David Gold and David Sullivan were being asked about new contracts for Slaven, they said let’s just leave it and see where we are next season.
“When they were asked when they were at the bottom, they said exactly the same thing.
“I think David Gold and David Sullivan have been loyal to their manager, and when Slaven was struggling they didn’t put any more pressure on him.”
