Everton are one of three Premier League teams who remain unbeaten.

Alan Curbishley has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on September 19th, that Everton have been superb this season – but he worries for them if injuries strike.
Everton were not as active in the summer transfer window as many people predicted, but they appear to have bought very astutely.
The Toffees are currently one of just three Premier League teams to have gone unbeaten through their first five matches this term.

And Curbishley has backed Everton to challenge for a Champions League spot, as long as they strengthen well in January.
“People forget what [Ronald] Koeman has done before he went to Southampton. He’s a vastly experienced manager,” the former West Ham United and Charlton Athletic boss said.
“I think the move to Everton came along, as he felt it was right for a change where he could invest and not lose his top players.
“His signings have been super and they look a really strong outfit.
“But, for me, the problem that they will have is injuries. If they can strengthen in January, they could be top four or top five.”
Koeman already appears to have solved Everton’s defensive issues, with the Merseyside club starting to play to their potential.

There was no doubting that Everton had quality in their squad last season, but Roberto Martinez failed to get the best out of the team.
Koeman, on the other hand, has made a hugely encouraging start at Goodison Park – and optimism is rising by the match.
Everton’s next fixture comes against Norwich City in the League Cup, before they face Bournemouth in the Premier League at the weekend.
