Everton’s Aiden McGeady enjoyed a superb loan spell with Preston.

Preston North End midfielder Alan Browne has told the Irish Examiner that he thinks Everton winger Aiden McGeady has been recapturing his best form this past season.
McGeady, 31, joined Everton from Russian giants Spartak Moscow in January 2014, and he made more than 40 appearances for the club during his first 18 months at Goodison Park.
The winger had earned a reputation for being a creative flair player during his days with Celtic and Spartak, but he was given just one first-team appearance in the 2015-16 season before being loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday.

After that move failed to bring any success, McGeady was completely frozen out by Ronald Koeman last summer, and he only moved on in the late stages of deadline day in August, joining Preston on loan until the end of the season.
McGeady managed to rekindle his career with North End, notching eight goals and nine assists in 34 Championship appearances, dazzling the Deepdale crowd with his stunning dribbling ability throughout his time with the Lilywhites.

Despite starring at Deepdale, the Liverpool Echo reported earlier this week that McGeady is still expected to leave Everton this summer, with Preston ‘expected’ to tie up a £2million deal for his services.
Now, Preston midfielder Alan Browne – who is in the Ireland squad alongside McGeady – has told the Irish Examiner that he thinks McGeady has got back to his best with North End.

Browne added that McGeady still has a role with Ireland having starred with Preston, highlighting just how impressive he can be when given first-team football – something he didn’t get much of at Everton.
“Aiden’s role with Ireland is far from over,” said Browne. “He’s getting back to his best now where we’ve seen him many years ago. He’s one that kind of gets frustrated with himself. You just have to keep telling him to get at players because when he does that, that’s when he’s at his best.”
“Aiden delivered the goods for us a number of times this season and he knows the manager here with Ireland for a long time, so of course he can still be a big player for Ireland. He’s been great for us at the club,” he added.
