Tottenham Hotspur have won 11 points from 15 in the Premier League.
Alan Brazil has told talkSPORT that he does not understand how Tottenham Hotspur have found themselves third in the Premier League after five games.
Tottenham are four points behind top-of-the-table Manchester City after picking up 11 points from a possible 15 so far.
They are still unbeaten in the Premier League, and 1-1 draws with Everton and Liverpool – both of whom have also been excellent this season – represent their only blemishes.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side beat Sunderland 1-0 on Sunday, a week after destroying Stoke City 4-0 at the Bet 365 Stadium, but Brazil, who played for the Lilywhites in the 1980s, says that his former side have not been brilliant, despite their results.
“I don’t understand how Spurs have managed to be up in third, because they’ve not been spectacular at all,” he told talkSPORT.
It does seem slightly harsh from the 57-year-old. Aside from their Champions League defeat to Monaco last week, Tottenham have been very good for the most part.
Maybe not “spectacular”, but Manchester City, with five wins from five, are the only team in the division who have been that good.
