Hart is a former teammate Rangers boss Gerrard, who signed a four-year deal at Ibrox earlier this month.
Steven Gerrard’s appointment as Rangers manager has seen several of his former colleagues suddenly linked with moves to Ibrox.
And Talksport breakfast show host Alan Brazil has thrown another name onto the pile – suggesting that a current England international could be bound for Rangers.
Discussing the Three Lions’ options with Tony Cascarino ahead of Wednesday’s World Cup squad announcement, Brazil – a well-known supporter of Rangers’ Old Firm rivals, Celtic – said: “Joe Hart, will he miss out? I can see him going to Rangers, you know.”
According to Brazil however, there is at least one England player who won’t be following Gerrard to Ibrox this summer.
He added: “Nick Pope won’t be going to Rangers. There is no Pope at Ibrox! That is for sure. Don’t worry about that.”
Hart is said to earn around £100,000 a week at Manchester City, who are expected to move him on as he enters the final year of his contract this summer.
The 31-year-old has spent the past two seasons out on loan, first to Torino and then West Ham United, with mixed success.
Rangers have been strongly linked with a free transfer move for their former goalkeeper Allan McGregor, who could prove a significantly cheaper addition.
