Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers sacked Pedro Caixinha over a month ago.
Speaking to his Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT, broadcast December 1, Alan Brazil has suggested that Rangers go after Avram Grant.
Rangers are still without a manager following Pedro Caixinha’s sacking over a month ago.
The likes of Derek McInnes and Alex McLeish are two of the primary names heavily linked with the role but neither have been appointed as of yet.
Fans of the Ibrox club are growing impatient and chairman Dave King confirmed to the club’s AGM this week that headway was been made in their attempts to replace the Portuguese.
Graeme Murty has been in charge of Rangers on a temporary basis but he is not expected to be given the role in the long term, though a Sunday win for the Gers over Aberdeen, whom they beat 3-0 in midweek, would certainly strengthen his credentials to earn it for the rest of the season.
Still, it might be quite an underwhelming addition, given that Aitor Karanka is now in the reckoning according to Sky Bet, but Brazil has suggested that Grant should be considered.
He said on talkSPORT’s Sports Breakfast, broadcast on December 1: “I was thinking more along [the lines] of a foreign manager that’s been over here before.”
Then asked by co-host Ally McCoist to specify, Brazil added: “Maybe Avram Grant. Someone like that.”
The 62-year-old, who has managed three Premier League clubs, has been out of work since February after resigning from his three-year stint as Ghana manager.
In 2015, he led the Black Stars to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations but a penalty shootout defeat by the Ivory Coast saw them finish as runners-up.
