Brendan Rodgers is believed to want Steven Gerrard to join him at Celtic.

Alan Brazil has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 16th November, that he would love to see Celtic sign Steven Gerrard.

Celtic are currently the favourites to land the Liverpool legend, after his departure from LA Galaxy was confirmed yesterday.

Gerrard is believed to want to return to Britain, after spending the past two years playing in MLS.

And it is thought that Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring the 36-year-old to Celtic Park.

Brazil believes that it would be a good move by the Bhoys, but he has questioned whether moving to Scotland is now a step down from playing in America.

“I think Steven can still do a job, and the Celtic fans would love him up there,” Brazil said. “But is it a step down? It’s a bit like Roy Keane going up there.”

Gerrard is believed to want to carry on playing after leaving LA Galaxy, and Celtic are thought to be keen to offer him a place in their side.

Rodgers knows Gerrard well from their time at Liverpool together, and reportedly feels that the experienced midfielder can add a lot of quality to his Celtic team.

If Gerrard was to move to Celtic he would be in line to win his first ever league title, as the Bhoys are currently 10 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
