TalkSport pundit Alan Brazil has fired warning shots to Rangers that Steven Gerrard could ‘leave’ and if he does decide to depart then Liverpool won’t be the only club wanting to secure his signature.

Brazil stated that the ‘problem’ with Gerrard’s current situation is that he doesn’t think he will stay until the end of his current Ibrox deal and if he gets ‘frustrated’ then he will leave.

Gerrard is in his second season in charge at Ibrox and he will be hoping to lift some silverware with the Glasgow club this season – his current deal is due to expire in 2022 [transfermarkt].

Added with that, Jurgen Klopp recently stated that he would like Gerrard to replace him in the Anfield dugout one day and insisted that he would ‘help him’ if that were to happen, as quoted by FourFourTwo.

But former Scottish striker and TalkSport presenter Brazil told The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, as posted on their official Twitter account, that he could see Rangers facing some problems in a years time.

“It depends when Jurgen heads off then I think they will go right away for Gerrard, I do,” said Brazil. “He keeps hinting that you know, he’s not extended his contract, has he? Not that I am aware of.

“Do you know the problem with Gerrard, Liverpool and maybe Klopp, the problem is will Gerrard stay until 2022 at Rangers? I am hearing all sorts that there are problems. I think he has closed the gap on Celtic, but still not sufficient enough to cause them problems.

“But he is doing a good job up there. If he gets frustrated and whatever he gets promised he doesn’t get, he could leave. And if he leaves then it won’t be just Liverpool who will look to Steven Gerrard. That’s the problem Rangers could be facing in a years time.”

A lot has to happen for Gerrard to be lured away from Ibrox and for Klopp to part ways with Liverpool because both of them have one goal on their mind.

Gerrard wants to stop their Old Firm rivals from winning nine-in-a-row, as they are currently three points behind Neil Lennon’s men in the Scottish Premiership table.

As for Klopp and Liverpool, they are sitting top of the Premier League table after six matches, and they can make it seven wins from seven when they travel to Sheffield United at the weekend.
