Celtic fan Alan Brazil comments on Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers’ chances of winning the Scottish Premiership title next season.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United forward Alan Brazil has suggested in The Sunday Post that Rangers will not be able to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season.

Rangers finished as low as third in the Scottish Premiership last season, as Celtic won the league title without losing a single game.

The Hoops have the best squad in Scotland, and the Glasgow giants will be favourites to clinch the title yet again in 2016-17.

Former Tottenham and United forward Brazil, who is a Celtic fan and now works as a radio presenter on talkSPORT, does not think that Pedro Caixinha’s side will be able to challenge Brendan Rodgers’s side for the Scottish Premiership title next season.

Brazil has also suggested that Rangers could struggle to compete with Aberdeen, who finished second in the league last season.

“As far as I’m concerned, Gers fans can forget about challenging Celtic this season,” Brazil wrote in The Sunday Post. “Unless they improve massively, they’ll be doing well to challenge Aberdeen.”

Celtic are the best team in Scotland, and it is hard to see Rodgers’s side lose the Scottish Premiership title next season. Rangers, though, should be confident of finishing second in the standings in 2017-18.
