Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli has split with his old agent.
Alan Brazil has suggested on talkSPORT (broadcast on Friday morning, September 15) that Tottenham Hotspur could re-sign Gareth Bale – if they offload Dele Alli.
The Tottenham sensation is being pursued by so-called super agents Mino Raiola and Jorge Mendes after parting company with his old representative this month, say The Sun.
Together, Raiola and Mendes boast a stable of some of football’s biggest superstars and transfer links to Barcelona and Real Madrid are bound to re-surface if either is successful in snapping up the 21-year-old, one of the world’s most promising young players.
Spurs sold Bale to Real Madrid for a then-world record £86 million fee four years ago but the Welshman – who has helped the club to three Champions League titles – has been a love/hate figure among the Blancos’ fans for a lot of his time in the Spanish capital.
And the former Scottish striker believes a return to North London could be on the cards, if Alli goes the other way.
Asked on talkSPORT if Alli was good enough for one of Spain’s elite, Brazil said: “Yes. I believe the Spanish league, as much as I love Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico, a lot of the games are easy-peasy and I believe he’d just stroll through most of them.
“He’d look a class apart. I was going to say maybe another 18 months [at Tottenham] and maybe Bale comes back, and he goes.”
Tottenham fans would love Bale back, but probably not at the expense of Alli.
The Wales star was outstanding for Spurs in the final three years of his time in North London, but that’s the past and Alli is very much the future.
