Alan Brazil has claimed that ‘it all fits in’ for Rangers boss Steven Gerrard to manage Newcastle and then head over to Liverpool, as he told talkSPORT on Thursday morning.

The talkSPORT host, who is a a Celtic fan, couldn’t help but put the Rangers man’s name forward amid the breaking news coming from Newcastle during the past 24 hours.

Newcastle are on the verge of being taken over by a Saudi-led group within the next 48 hours, according to Sky Sports.

If that’s the case then Newcastle fans will want the already under-fire and unpopular Steve Bruce out of the door.

talkSPORT host Brazil shared that one of the individuals part of the deal, Amanda Staveley, is a ‘Liverpool fan’, so he can see Gerrard making the move to the North East, as Ally McCoist responded to his comments.

“If Steven Gerrard comes down,” said Brazil about the 41-year-old. “What is it 100 miles down to Newcastle?

“Waits for Jurgen to head off into green pastures and slips in because I think Amanda Staveley is a big Liverpool fan. It all fits in. It all fits in, of course it does.”

McCoist laughed and responded by saying: “I am not sure it’s as simple as that.”

Finally, from the perspective of the Newcastle fans, they are going to see the back of Mike Ashley after one of the most woeful football tenures.

During his time at the club, the Magpies suffered two relegations, and when they weren’t doing that, they were trying to get promoted or battling near the bottom of the Premier League table.

But with Newcastle set to be the richest club in world football, their fans’ dreams will sky-rocket.

Over the years, both Chelsea and Manchester City have proven that huge investment can get you to the top and put trophies into their cabinet.

The huge difference here is that Newcastle were already a big club way before the money comes into the club.
