Al-Hilal have reportedly turned their attention to Napoli forward Victor Osimhen after failing in their audacious bid to sign PSG forward Kylian Mbappe.
According to Loic Tanzi, of L’Equipe, The Saudi side are turning their attention to the Nigerian striker who is valued at £150 million according to the Daily Mail.
The mega-rich Middle Eastern club are looking to make a big statement and sign the 24-year-old, who has been strongly linked with a host of top clubs around Europe.
PSG had agreed to sell Mbappe to the Saudi side, after Al-Hilal had offered a world record fee of |£259 million for the French forward.
However the 24-year-old, according to Fabrizio Romano, has turned down the move to the Saudi Pro League.
As a result, it seems the Saudi side have turned their attention to the forward who fired Napoli to their first Scudetto since 1990.
Al-Hilal hoping for a ‘quick’ deal
According to Tanzi, Al-Hilal are hoping to complete the deal quickly to sign the Nigerian forward.
Osimhen scored an outrageous 26 goals in 32 Serie A games for Napoli last season and the forward has been linked with a whole host of top European clubs but it seems the Middle Eastern side are trying to steal a march on their European rivals.
Interestingly, reports from Italy state that the forward was spotted in Paris after being linked with the French giants.
However, despite this, it is not thought that the striker being spotted in France is anything to do with a potential transfer to Luis Enrique’s side.
Not only are Al-Hilal targeting a marquee striker, whether it be Mbappe or Osimhen, but they are also targeting Mbappe’s teammate, Marco Verratti according to Romano.
The side who finished third in the Saudi Pro League, have spent astronomical amounts of money this summer and are seemingly looking to spend more with the hope they can win the league title.
