Al-Hilal have reportedly upped their offer for Italian midfielder Marco Verratti with Paris Saint-Germain demanding a lot more money from the Saudi side before agreeing to allow him to depart the club.

According to a tweet from Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi side, after seeing their first offer for the midfielder rejected by the French giants, have made a second offer for the midfielder.

However, the offer, despite being a significant increase on the previous offer made by the Saudi side it is still falling short of their valuation with Luis Enrique’s side demanding a ‘lot more’ for the 30-year-old to make the move.

Al Hilal have improved their offer for Marco Verratti. The bid, thought to be worth €45 million (£38 million), has nonetheless been rejected by Paris Saint-Germain.

The Saudi side submitted a €30m £25 million offer for the Italian international in late July, according to Le Parisien. However, they also detail the gulf in valuation between the two sides. PSG reportedly value Verratti at €80m (£68 million). It was however suggested that a deal could be done for around €60m (£51 million).

‘No intention to accept’

Romano has also stated that the PSG president, Nasser Al Khelaifi, has still no intention to accept the current conditions offered by the Saudi side, who have struggled to attract the top talents that their rivals have.

After seeing deals fall through for Kylian Mbappe and Victor Osimhen, Verratti may well prove to be another deal that slips through the fingers of the Saudi side They have also made an offer for Lille forward Jonathan David, but again that deal seems set to fall through after he turned down their £10 million a season wage offer.

Verratti would have been a superb deal for the Saudi side but it seems there is a huge gulf in current valuations for the Italian, with the Saudi side, who are very well backed by their owner, needing to up their offer for the 30-year-old.
