Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly set their price tag for Italian midfielder, and Al-Ahli target, Marco Verratti according to a report from a French outlet.

RMC Sport, a French outlet, has said that the French giants have set a €60-70 million (£51-60 million) price tag for the Italian midfielder.

This is despite a report from L’Equipe that claims that PSG had valued the midfielder at around €80 million.

It seems there has been a lowering of the price that the Parisian outfit are requiring for the midfielder’s services.

It also appears there’s a transfer battle for the midfielder’s services with Al-Hilal and also Al-Ahli after the Italian.

The midfielder, described by Mauricio Pochettino as ‘amazing’ when speaking to Ligue 1 back in 2021, has been in Paris for over a decade but it seems his time in the capital is coming to an end.

Verratti’s choice

What seems clear, despite all the uncertainty, is that the Italian wants to make the move.

The midfielder has agreed personal terms with Al-Hilal but the Saudi side made an opening offer of just £25 million for the 30-year-old which is not enough according to Fabrizio Romano.

RMC have claimed that despite the two clubs being interested in a move for the midfielder, the priority, as things stand, is a move to Al-Hilal.

The two clubs are seemingly far away from an agreement, however, and this has reportedly led to Al-Ahli entering the fray for the midfielder’s signature.

Al-Ahli, under new manager and former RB Salzburg boss Matthias Jaissle, have acquired three former Premier League stars; Riyad Mahrez, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Roberto Firmino. They are now seemingly now looking for midfield reinforcements to bolster their squad.

They have been linked with another midfielder today, Marcos Llorente of Atletico Madrid. This may well hint that Al-Ahli have moved onto different targets with it looking likely that the Italian midfielder will be making a move to Al-Hilal.
