Wycombe Wanderers striker Adebayo Akinfenwa played with Leeds United attacker Kemar Roofe at Northampton Town.
Roofe has been on the books of Leeds since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Oxford United for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £3 million.
The 24-year-old, who can operate as a winger, attacking midfielder or striker, has established himself as an important player for the Whites.
The Englishman started 28 Championship appearances for Leeds last season, scoring three goals and providing seven assists in the process.
So far this campaign, Roofe has scored two goals and provided one assist in seven league starts for the West Yorkshire outfit.
Wycombe striker Akinfenwa, 35, played with Roofe at Northampton Town, and he has revealed what the attacker has told him about Leeds.
Akinfenwa told Sky Sports: “I know Kemar Roofe and when he went from Oxford – I played with him at Northampton. He keeps talking about great the club is.”
Leeds are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 17 points from seven matches, a point clear of second-placed Cardiff City.
