The former Liverpool defender has taken a swipe at Italian forward Balotelli as he signs for Nice.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has taken to Twitter to criticise striker Mario Balotelli as the Italian striker joins French side Nice. Balotelli is leaving Anfield on a free, after signing for £16 million from Milan two years ago. The move to his new club was confirmed by Liverpool on their website this evening.
Then Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers brought in the enigmatic forward as the club looked to replace the departing Luis Suarez.
But Balotelli managed just one goal in a Liverpool shirt, and made just 16 appearances before being loaned back to Milan. The former City man will be hoping that Nice is a club that can provide some stability for him, after not having much goalscoring success in the past few seasons in Italy and England.

Former Reds’ hero Jamie Carragher has posted a sarcastic tweet from his account, alluding to the fact that despite not paying a penny for the services of Balotelli, Nice have still got a raw deal.
The message will surely not be much appreciated by Balotelli, but perhaps the tweet does sum up a career that is stuttering at the moment for the 26 year-old frontman.
Despite the player’s obvious talent, he has frustrated fans of the clubs he has played for of late with his poor form, and clearly Anfield legend Carragher is no exception.
Balotelli can only hope that his new home on the French coast can change his fortunes and re-ignite his footballing career.
