According to BBC Humberside, Hull City’s proposed takeover by a consortium from China and Hong Kong appears to have fallen through, for reasons that have at present not been disclosed by the club.
There is speculation that the potential buyers, a group lead by Dai Yongge and Dai Xiu Li, have failed the FA’s fit and proper person test, mandatory for any new owners of an English club.
Hull City had been put up for sale by their current owners, the Allam’s, in 2014, and uncertainty has surrounded the club since their promotion back to the Premier League.
Despite the team’s impressive start on the pitch, taking 6 points from their first 3 games, the club are yet to announce a permanent manager for the side.

The reports of the collapsed takeover has puzzled Hull City fans, who have taken to Twitter to express their views.
Whilst there is undeniable confusion from the supporters, they seem more keen for the club to wrap up the question of whether caretaker boss Mike Phelan will be allowed to undertake the manager’s job on a permanent basis.
