Nottingham Forest are said to be keen to bring in Patrick Bamford from Middlesbrough this summer.

Aitor Karanka admitted to the Gazette back in 2017 that Patrick Bamford was a player he liked a lot, and now he reportedly wants to striker at Nottingham Forest.

The Daily Mirror have suggested that Bamford is a transfer target of Forest, as Karanka looks to sign him for a third time.

Karanka has worked with Bamford on two separate occasions at Middlesbrough, with mixed results.

The striker enjoyed a wonderful first spell at the Riverside Stadium, but his second stint there was not quite as successful.

However, Karanka has always been a fan, and his comments when Bamford signed for Boro for a second time were telling.

“I’m really pleased because he’s a player I like a lot,” he said.

“He played his best football when he was here with us, and he has matured since then.

“He knows the most important thing is that I trust him. I am sure he will be important for us, the way he was two years ago.”

Bamford’s more recent struggles have seemingly not put Karanka off the former Chelsea man, as he now is eyeing him up for Forest.

The Spaniard is keen to improve Forest’s attack for next campaign, with a striker seemingly next on his shortlist.

Bamford actually began his career at Forest, so would be fully familiar with the City Ground, if he was to make a move this summer.
