Nottingham Forest are thought to be working on a deal to sign Middlesbrough’s Grant Leadbitter.

Karanka has been assessing his options at Forest, and a number of Boro’s players have been linked.
The Spanish boss used to be in charge at the Riverside Stadium, and clearly feels that some of the players he worked with in the North East would be good additions at the City Ground.
Leadbitter is believed to be his top target for Forest, as he has a good relationship with 32-year-old midfielder.

Leadbitter publicly stated how disappointed he was when Karanka left Boro, but a reunion could now be on the cards at Forest.
The midfielder has just six months left on his deal at Boro, which means that Tony Pulis’ side may feel this is their last chance to make some money on him.

Leadbitter is currently in Boro’s starting line-up, but Forest are still hopeful that they could get a deal done in the coming days.
Forest were beaten 1-0 in Karanka’s first match in charge by Aston Villa, and currently sit in 15th place in the Championship table.
