Nottingham Forest continue to pursue Karim Ansarifard.

Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka has told BBC Sport that the club is ‘doing well’ in it’s pursuit of striker Karim Ansarifard, with a deal potentially close.
Forest are sitting on the cusp of the play-offs, just two points behind rivals Derby County in sixth place, the fourth and final play-off spot, at this early stage in the season.
Whilst some still aren’t convinced by Karanka’s side, Forest have only lost twice this season, and are hard to beat even if they aren’t always exciting going forward.
Lewis Grabban has been prolific with nine goals, but adding another goalscoring option may be a priority to take some pressure off him – and one long-running deal could be close to completion.
Forest have been linked with a move to sign Iranian attacker Ansarifard for two months now, having seen him become a free agent after being released by Olympiakos – Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis’s other club.
Ansarifard, 28, hit 18 goals in all competitions last season and could be a huge addition for Forest if they can, as reported this week, get a deal over the line.

Ahead of this weekend’s game against league leaders Sheffield United, boss Karanka has been asked about the situation, and suggested that Forest are ‘doing well’ in their pursuit of Ansarifard, and he will be ‘really happy’ if they can announce a deal.
“I know the club is doing well,” said Karanka. If one day we can announce something I’ll be really happy,” he added.
