Aitor Karanka has posted on Twitter as he prepares to begin work at Nottingham Forest.
Forest hired Karanka on a two-and-a-half-year deal on Monday, but the Basque is thought to have spent the early part of this week back home.
With his first game as Reds boss against Aston Villa on Saturday, however, Karanka arrived in Nottingham late last night [Tuesday] and revealed he “can’t wait to get started”.
The Forest job will be Karanka’s second in management, although if it goes anything like his first the City Ground faithful will be very happy indeed.
The 44-year-old former Real Madrid assistant found Middlesbrough in a similar predicament to Forest four years ago, and led them to fourth- and second-placed finishes in his two full seasons on Teesside.
He left with Boro facing relegation from the Premier League in March last year, but continued to reside in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
Karanka arrives on Trentside fresh off the back of Forest’s 4-2 win FA Cup win against Arsenal.
