Aitor Karanka’s Nottingham Forest side picked up a 1-1 draw with Bristol City in their opening fixture.

Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka has stated that his team showed exactly how he wanted them to play in the second half against Bristol City.
There was great optimism for Forest’s season ahead of kick off at Ashton Gate, but that was quickly punctured when the hosts scored an early goal.
That could have rocked Forest, but Karanka’s side came back strong in the second half.
In the end Daryl Murphy scored an equaliser, and the Reds could have taken all three points after dominating the second period.
Karanka was happy enough with his side’s showing, and Forest fans also seem to have been encouraged by their start.
Bristol City’s home record has been strong in recent years, so picking up a point is a credible start for Karanka’s side.
Forest should get stronger as the season progresses, when all of Karanka’s signings are fully settled in English football, after a busy summer.
Forest are next in action in midweek, when they take on West Bromwich Albion at the City Ground.
