Nottingham Forest were highly active on deadline day, with Lee Tomlin one of a number of new arrivals.

Aitor Karanka has brought one his ‘favourite players’ to Nottingham Forest in the form of Lee Tomlin.
Forest had a hugely active deadline day, with Karanka significantly strengthening his side.
Arguably the most exciting addition of the day was that of Tomlin, who has joined on a loan deal from Cardiff City.
And Karanka will be delighted to be reunited with the attacking midfielder, who he managed during his time in charge at Middlesbrough.

“I told him this season he would be my first No. 10 and Fabbrini had to fight for his position. He played as a No10 and as a left winger, he plays in several positions, so he knew I trusted him and he was one of my favourite players,” Karanka said to Gazette.
Karanka actually sold Tomlin when in charge of Boro, and he insisted after the transfer went through that their relationship was still strong.
“We won the manager of the month and the player of the month at the same time (last season) so for this reason I want to explain that we don’t have anything personal it’s just he wanted to play in the Premier League, the money was right for the club and everybody is pleased,” the Spanish boss said.

Karanka’s words have certainly proven true, as Tomlin jumped at the chance to work with him again at the City Ground.
Tomlin has the potential to light up Forest during his time with the Reds.
Tomlin is one of the most creative players outside the Premier League, and if Forest can get him focused, then the 29-year-old is sure to improve their attacking play.
