Nottingham Forest were dumped out of the League Cup last night, with Aitor Karanka’s side disappointing.

Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka needs to stop playing Ben Osborn at left-back, as it is very clear that the academy graduate is not comfortable there.

In midfield, Osborn is an excellent option and one of Forest’s best talents.

However, at left-back, he can be exposed as it is simply not a position that he feels familiar with.

Osborn has played at left-back on occasion throughout his career, but he never looks at his best there.

Osborn was once again exposed again last night, as Forest were beaten by Burton Albion in the League Cup.

The 24-year-old put in a shaky performance as Forest were upset by their League One opponents.

And Karanka now has all the evidence he needs to know that picking Osborn at left-back again, out of choice, can only been seen as a mistake.
