Nottingham Forest have been said to be tracking Lewis Grabban, Jack Marriott and Nelson Oliveira this summer.

According to the Nottingham Post, Lewis Grabban is Aitor Karanka’s first choice strike-target for Nottingham Forest this summer – and that could be a smart move from the Spaniard.

Forest are said to have explored Grabban, Jack Marriott and Nelson Oliveira as potential options for them, but it is the Bournemouth striker who Karanka is most keen on.

Grabban looks set to leave the Cherries this summer, and Forest are now thought to be at the front of the queue for his signature.

And by selecting Grabban, Karanka has taken the safest option out of the trio.

Marriott exploded on to the scene at Peterborough United last term, scoring 33 goals, but he is entirely unproven at Championship level.

Oliveira, meanwhile, has shown flashes of class before, but his attitude remains an issue and he has never scored particularly frequently in England.

Grabban, on the other hand, effectively guarantees goals in the Championship, if Forest are able to sign him.

Grabban netted 20 goals in 34 Championship appearances last term, and Karanka would be taking by far the safest option by bringing the 30-year-old to the City Ground this summer.
