Nottingham Forest defender Eric Lichaj appears to be on the verge of a move to Hull City.

Aitor Karanka has made the right call by allowing Eric Lichaj to leave Nottingham Forest.

ESPN have reported how Lichaj is set to leave Forest to join Hull City in the near future.

The move has been greeted with a mixed reaction from Forest fans, as Lichaj remains a popular figure at the City Ground.

The American has been with the Reds since 2013 and he has been a great servant of the club ever since arriving.

Lichaj’s professionalism could never be questioned, but Karanka is right to be ruthless, as he is attempting to build a promotion winning squad at Forest.

If the Reds really do want to play Premier League football in two seasons’ time, then Lichaj was always likely to need to be upgraded.

The right-back hasn’t even featured particularly regularly over the last campaign, as he was rotated in and out of the team.

And Karanka’s decision to allow Lichaj to leave to join Hull, shows that Forest really do have ambitions to improve next term.
