Aitor Karanka has told the Hucknall Dispatch that he will make changes to Nottingham Forest’s team for their match against Burton Albion this evening.

Forest are due to take on Burton in the Carabao Cup later, and they head into the match as favourites to pick up the victory.

Karanka’s side play in the league above Burton, and the Spanish boss admits that he is happy to make some changes and offer some chances to his fringe players tonight.

“I will make changes because I have players who have played three games in one week,” he said.

“I need to check with the medical department how they are but the 11 players who go to the pitch will be the best players for the game.

“It is important because with the squad we have, it is important for the players who are not playing or who have the chance to play, to show me that they are ready.

“I have said always that I do not have one team for the cup and one for the league, and tomorrow I will put out the best 11. It is true that the more games we have, the better it will be for everybody.”

Forest could alter their attack for the fixture, as Lewis Grabban, Joao Carvalho and Joe Lolley have all played regularly of late.

If Grabban is rested it could Daryl Murphy a chance to lead the line for the Reds.

Forest go into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Leeds United at the weekend.

Karanka’s side have made it this far in the competition by beating Newcastle United and Stoke City.
