The Middlesbrough manager has been speaking ahead of his side’s fixture against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Middlesbrough midfielder Adama Traore will become an “amazing” player once he learns how to become a team player, according to manager Aitor Karanka.
Barcelona youth-team graduate Traore was given his first start in the Premier League this season during the 0-0 draw with Arsenal and his manager is expecting the 20-year old to continue his promising start to the campaign.
The Boro boss was speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s home game against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Karanka is quoted by Sky Sports as saying: “I said before the Arsenal game that Adama can bring us the pace we didn’t have. In the Premier League you need players like him.
“It’s more about him understanding that he’s come into a really organised team. He needs to understand everything. When he does he will be an amazing player.”
Saturday’s match at home to Bournemouth will be Karanka’s 150th in charge of Boro and he will be looking for his team to claim what would be their second victory in the Premier League this season.
Traore joined Boro in the summer on a four-year deal after cutting short his time at Aston Villa, for whom he played just a single season after previously spending 11 years at Barcelona.
