Nottingham Forest secured an important win at under-23 level last night.

Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka has voiced his backing for the club’s under-23 team.
Forest beat Crystal Palace 1-0 last night in the semi-finals of the development league play-offs.
The winner came in extra-time through prolific French youngster Virgil Gomis.

Gomis’ form has seen him knocking on the door for a first team chance and fans are keen to see him given an opportunity.
His goal last night certainly grabbed Karanka’s attention, with the Spaniard taking to Twitter to praise the team’s efforts.
Match winner Gomis also took to Twitter to hail the team’s victory.
Forest will face Bolton Wanderers later this month in the final of this year’s Professional Development League.
Karanka might not want to interfere with the under-23s by calling up Gomis for the last match of the first team’s season this weekend but otherwise it would be warranted.
He must take a close look at the teenager in pre-season and try to bring the youngster through and potentially save the club shelling out in the transfer market.
